The proposed 2026 bond continues Irving ISD’s long-range facilities planning process, which began well before the district’s 2023 bond program.
A Facilities Planning Committee (FPC), composed of parents, students, staff and community members, reviewed demographic studies, enrollment projections, facility assessments, educational specifications, long-range planning information and project cost estimates before making its recommendations to the Board of Trustees.
The proposed bond propositions include projects identified through that planning process to address aging facilities, student programs, technology, safety and district infrastructure.

FACILITY PLANNING PRIORITIES
The Facility Planning Committee considered a variety of factors when developing recommendations.
-
Irving ISD facilities have served students for decades. Facility assessments identified aging building systems and infrastructure that help inform long-term planning recommendations.
-
The Facility Planning Committee emphasized the importance of student engagement during their evaluation process. The proposed projects include indoor multipurpose facilities for student activities, along with improvements to Career & Technical Education (CTE) and fine arts programs.
-
Maintaining safe learning environments was a priority of the Facility Planning Committee. The proposed projects include safety and security improvements designed to secure campuses and enhance district-wide safety measures.
-
Technology is an evolving aspect of teaching, learning, and district operations. The proposed technology projects would replace aging student and staff devices, upgrade network infrastructure, enhance cybersecurity, and maintain secure, reliable access to digital learning resources.
The proposed bond includes three indoor multi-purpose facilities at Irving ISD high schools. If approved by voters, these facilities would provide indoor practice space during periods of extreme heat and severe weather and accommodate athletics and other student programs throughout the year.
